Indeed, such hairy and dark models are a real challenge for any photographer, yet I still couldn't make the caterpillar show it's face (very shy one). |

Actually, this year was the first time I saw it. And that's the first and only photo of species on the internet. So yes, it's really rare species, that needs to be protected and despite that, almost nothing is known about it's biology - host plants, flight period and e.t.c. But given the date this geometrid was taken and the numbers of specimens I saw on that day, late Semptember/October is a time when they mate I guess. |
