Brittlegill - Russula medullata

Quercus, Betula, Pinus, Picea.

The mushrooms grow in a dry place on a hill between two lakes.

The cap is 4-8(12) cm in diameter, initially hemispherical, convex, later flattened, depressed in the center, fleshy and dense. The lamellae are initially pale cream, yellowish, becoming ocher when ripe. The smell is faint, the taste is slightly sweet.
An uncommon fleshy edible mushroom.
